Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

PRK, FemtoLASIK, and ReLEx SMILE.

1. FemtoLASIK uses two types of lasers: a Femtosecond laser to create and lift a corneal flap, followed by an Excimer laser to reshape the cornea and correct vision.
2. ReLEx SMILE uses only the Femtosecond laser without creating a corneal flap. This results in a smaller incision than FemtoLASIK, provides greater safety and structural integrity of the cornea, and reduces dry eye symptoms post-surgery.

Individuals aged 18-40 years with a stable eye prescription for at least one year.

If you have nearsightedness, astigmatism, or age-related farsightedness (presbyopia) without other eye diseases like cataracts or retinal disorders, you can undergo an evaluation for LASIK. The doctor will plan the appropriate treatment for you.

The evaluation takes approximately 1-2 hours.

It is highly recommended to have the evaluation at least one day before the procedure. This allows the doctor to plan properly; for example, patients with dry eyes might require collagen plugs, medicated eye drops, or artificial tears beforehand.

The cost is a fixed-price package that includes medications on the day of the procedure and follow-up care. However, if any medication is required during the follow-up period, there will be an additional charge for those specific medicines.

The procedure itself takes 20-30 minutes, with about 1 hour of preparation. You can return home immediately after; no overnight stay is required.

Generally, vision improves by the next morning but may not be perfectly clear due to initial irritation. Vision typically becomes sharp after one week of medication and rest.

Rest at home for one day following the procedure. You will have a follow-up appointment the next day, after which you can resume normal activities. However, you must avoid getting water in your eyes for 1 week and refrain from swimming or diving for 1 month.

There are approximately 4 follow-ups: 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months post-surgery. These appointments are free of charge, except for any necessary medications.

LASIK results are generally permanent. However, for those with very high nearsightedness or astigmatism, a slight regression may occur over time.

Generally, touch-ups can be performed without additional surgery fees. You would only be responsible for medical supply costs, currently 4,000 Baht per session.
