Varicose Vein Treatment with Medical Adhesive (VenaSeal)

Endovenous Cyanoacrylate Closure, or the **VenaSeal Closure System**, is a non-surgical method for treating varicose veins. It involves injecting a medical adhesive (glue) into the affected vein, causing it to seal shut. The procedure is performed by puncturing the vein below the knee or above the ankle and inserting a catheter up to the groin area. The adhesive is then deposited, causing the varicose veins to collapse by 90–100%.

Advantages

  • The incision is very small, only 2-3 millimeters, resulting in no pain during treatment and very minimal bruising.
  • No hospital stay is required. You can walk and return to normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
  • There is no need to wear compression stockings after the treatment.
  • Results are fast, effectively reducing pain caused by varicose veins.

Procedure for Varicose Vein Treatment with Medical Adhesive

  1. The doctor will administer a local anesthetic before the procedure begins.
  2. The doctor uses an ultrasound machine to locate the vein, then punctures the vein below the knee or above the ankle. A catheter is inserted up to the groin area, and the medical adhesive is injected.
  3. After the treatment, the doctor will apply pressure to the site to stop the bleeding, eliminating the need for stitches.
  4. The total treatment time is approximately 30 minutes.

Post-Treatment Care

You can immediately resume your normal activities, but you should walk or move your body frequently and regularly for exercise.
