Currently, skilled surgeons can treat **"gallstones"** with Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (LC) combined with treating **"common bile duct stones"** using Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) **simultaneously in a single session**.

Patients who are candidates for combined LC and ERCP should have common bile duct stones no larger than 1 cm, with a success rate exceeding 90%.

**The advantage** of treating gallstones and common bile duct stones simultaneously is that the patient only undergoes preparation and the treatment process once. The incisions are very small, leading to less pain, faster recovery, and a reduced length of hospital stay.

Self-Care After LC + ERCP

Avoid hot foods and consume soft, mild-flavored foods for at least 2-3 days. You may experience abdominal bloating after the procedure, but this should gradually improve. If you experience abnormal symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, a rigid abdomen, severe abdominal tightness/discomfort, shortness of breath, or fever, return to the doctor immediately.

Preparation Before LC + ERCP

Stop taking anti-platelet or blood-thinning medication 7 days before the treatment.
Do not consume any food or drink for at least 6 hours before the procedure.
Inform the doctor if you have any underlying conditions and a history of allergies to medication, seafood, or contrast media.
