What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is concentrated blood plasma obtained by drawing a patient's own blood and centrifuging it to separate the blood layers. This isolates a highly concentrated amount of platelets and growth factors, which have properties that stimulate cell growth and division.
Injecting PRP for hair restoration is a popular treatment for individuals experiencing hair loss due to genetics or hormones, stress-related hair loss, and chemical exposure. It is also used to stimulate hair growth after a hair transplant procedure by activating hair roots and increasing blood circulation.
What are the benefits of PRP for hair restoration?
- Contains growth factors that stimulate hair root growth, helping to increase new hair growth and restore hair thickness and strength.
- Helps restore and strengthen hair roots, thus reducing hair loss.
- PRP injection is highly safe and rarely causes allergic reactions because it uses the patient's own blood.
PRP Hair Restoration Procedure
- A nurse draws 10 cc of blood.
- The blood is centrifuged to separate the PRP layer from the red and white blood cells, resulting in a highly concentrated platelet solution (PRP).
- A doctor injects the PRP into the scalp area experiencing thinning or hair loss.
- The entire treatment process takes approximately 1–2 hours.

How many PRP hair restoration sessions are needed, and how far apart should they be?
It is recommended to have 3 consecutive injections, spaced 1 month apart. After that, follow-up injections may be scheduled once every year.
Why choose PRP hair restoration at Khon Kaen Ram Hospital's Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine Clinic?
- A doctor provides consultation, assesses the scalp, and performs the treatment to ensure it is tailored to each individual patient.
- The patient's blood is collected using specialized PRP tubes, guaranteeing high-quality PRP.
- The blood collection tube contains a separation gel that helps isolate platelets from red and white blood cells, resulting in high-quality and highly concentrated PRP.
- The PRP centrifugation process uses sterile techniques, and all steps in PRP preparation are performed in a closed system, ensuring freedom from contaminants.
- We use a centrifuge specifically designed for PRP, which controls the optimal rotation speed and tube angle, resulting in a high percentage of platelets in the final PRP solution.
