The ICL implantation is performed by a specialized ophthalmologist. The doctor will place the ICL in the space between the iris and the natural crystalline lens.
The ICL is made from a natural, biocompatible material that does not irritate the eye or cause a rejection reaction from the body. It can remain in the eye permanently.

Who is a Suitable Candidate for ICL?
- Have myopia (nearsightedness) between -3.00 to -19.00 diopters, or astigmatism between 1.00 to 6.00 diopters.
- Are between 20–45 years of age.
- Have no eye diseases and have not had previous eye surgery, especially corneal surgery.
- Have sufficient anterior chamber depth, which will be evaluated by a doctor using various measurement tools.
- Have had a stable eyeglass prescription for at least one year.
Advantages of ICL
- Sharp Vision: Provides high-quality, sharp vision. Most patients also experience clear night vision.
- Does Not Cause Dry Eye Syndrome: The ICL procedure does not involve reshaping the cornea, so it does not induce dry eye symptoms.
- Removable: If necessary in the future, the ICL can be removed to accommodate other essential treatments with new technologies.
- Biocompatible: The ICL procedure is simply an addition to the eye; it does not alter the corneal structure. The lens material, "Collamer," is derived from natural collagen, making it highly compatible with the eye.
- UV Protection: The ICL protects the eyes from the sun's UV rays while still allowing all visible light to pass through.
- Quick Procedure and Short Recovery: The ICL implantation procedure takes only 20-30 minutes. Patients can return to their normal daily lives with clear vision within a few days.
- Wide Range of Correction: ICL can correct moderate to high levels of myopia in patients who are not suitable for LASIK due to a very high prescription or thin corneas.
The ICL Implantation Procedure
Before undergoing the ICL procedure to correct vision, the patient will have their eyes examined and evaluated. The ophthalmologist will check the health of the eyes and measure the vision to determine the optimal ICL parameters for each patient's eyes and prescription. A date for the implantation will then be scheduled.
1. A nurse will administer eye drops to dilate the pupil and numb the eye.
2. The ophthalmologist will create a small 3mm incision on the side of the cornea. The patient will not feel any pain due to the anesthetic drops.
3. The ophthalmologist will insert the ICL through the small incision, where it will gently unfold.
4. The haptics (feet) of the lens will be positioned in the ciliary sulcus, just behind the iris.
5. The ophthalmologist will ensure the lens is positioned correctly.
